Default I dont know who told me to do it...

But I bought a 40 dollar rug at Walmart... like 7.5' long, 3' wide rug...

The amount of smear I was getting off the floor is amazing...

Alot of stuff I thought sounded wrong is cleaned up with this small, insignificant tweak....

    Thanks for whoever suggested it.

Yeah, but have you demo'd the $200.00 rug at Efird's? You can experience smoother highs, a more definitive low end and crystal clear mids.

Naw, I'm kidding. Everybody knows that carpet doesn't make a difference. :D

    hahaha

    Hmmm...

I'm pondering other acoustic treatments I can implement eventually...

I'm thinking the ceiling next and one on the ceiling/top of the wall at the rear of the room...

But the rug is awesome for the amount of clarity it brought

Wingnut, feel free to shave wherever you need to. I don't think it's gonna help much if you don't.

Trey, at the point you are at in your audio journey, the best thing that you can do is look into real room acoustic treatments. Don't donkey around with the BS. You have an incredible rig and your greatest weak link right now is your room. If you want to go on the cheap, try looking into corner traps that are DIY or take a look at Micheal Green's room tunes. On his website, you may get a couple of ideas that you have not entertained yet.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear that the rug has a pleasing effect to the end result as to what hits your ears.
