I had a pair of them as fronts in an HT system, with 30s & CS1. They were OK for movies; not really adequate for music. For HT, in a small room, they are good, worth the price, in the sense that you'll enjoy watching movies. But you will likely wish to upgrade them at some point.
Don't even bother with a 7.1 system in such a small space. 5.1 will be more than enough, the money saved can be well spent upgrading other equipment.

I have the monitor 50's as my fronts and monitor 40's as my surrounds and absolutely love it. I am using an onkyo 606 powering them. They are on the bright side but the onkyo warms them up a little. For a bedroom the will be more than enough. Mines sound great in my 18x20 family room.
