mm2124 ---> sr104 switch

hey whats up guys, back here after a few years of bumping the awesome polk audio set up....remember getting helped by macleod back in the day, but who hasn't that guy helped? haha

got the mmc6500's powered by a c300.2 fronts, then 2 MM2124 subs pumping out the bass with the c500.1 amp powering.

now my brother had a setup in his car including a c500.1 and sr104, and now that it's sold, he gave the gear to me, and I am now looking to go with 2 c500.1's and 2 sr104's! I remember my brother's car bumping almost as hard as my 2 12's with his single top of the line 10, so figured if I matched it with another 10 it could be awesome.

just wanted to check in with the pros and see what you all think about the difference, hopefully the 10's will hit cleaner, harder, and be just an overall good upgrade to do.

I just have this feeling that the 2 top of the line 10's will hit nicer and be worth the money of buying a second, and I can still keep my 12's for comparison.

While I love the Momo sub line and competed with a MM2104 for 2 years, I must admit the SR sub line is pure excellence. Ive said it on here a million times but my SR124 in a 1.27 ft3 sealed box plays damn near ruler flat all the way down to 20 Hz. It is awesome and I have no reason to doubt the SR10's will be any less spectacular.

600 watts to each 10 would be perfect. Since youre doubling your power, you will get more output even with the smaller sub but best of all, theyll sound better. ;)

what's the cu ft recommendation for a double sr10 then? would it just be the .78 in each chamber? so a total of what like 1.6 cu ft ? thanks

alright got everything installed but have a question mac- the installer guy told me that I should have gotten two DVC subs for my 2 C500.1s instead of the SVC's if I wanted to get all the power out of my amps. He said instead of the 555 to each sub its probably only sending around 250 or something... hope you can give me some insight on this...Thx

He's right.

If you have one DVC sub wired to one amp you can wire it up for 4 ohms or 2 ohms. If you wire it up to 2ohms, you'd be getting more power. When wired up at 4 ohms, you can pretty much cut the power given to the sub in half.

If you were running one amp this wouldn't really matter, but since you're running 2 separate amps it does. (If it was two SVC subs wired to one amp, they could be wired in parallel to show the amp a 2 ohm load).
