Question Recent Selling Price - SDA SRS 2.3

I've been watching a vintage pair (SL2000's still intact) of SDA SRS 2.3's on ebay and am amazed they traded at $1,026 picked up in Decatur, IL with 6 bidders duking it out. Isn't that getting into SRS 1 territory?

I think if that is what you are looking for and can pick up locally then maybe that is a fair price. Shipping would be out of the question. I have two sets of SDA SRS 2's and the only reason I have them is because they were a half hour away from me. These speakers are not easy to come by and if you do find them, they are normally too far away to get.

Exactly, you might recall I drove round-trip 16 hrs to Philadelphia last month for my SDA SRS 2's and that is becoming a bit too much. Did you just pick up your second pair from the guy in Milford, or was that someone else?

Seems like even the 2.3TL should be around $1000. I don't know much about the donuts.

    LOL.

I have a pair of 2.3 TL's in Massachusetts I have been marketing for months on C/L as I have no intention of shipping them. WITH 6 new RDO tweeters! Not a single person even interested in looking at them. New Englanders are cheep cheep cheep. :( $850 and no bites.

    Go figure.

    Best,

    Paul :D

WOW! I wish I had known you 3 to 4 weeks ago. I just got the bug back in late November, started looking, and bought my SDA SRS 2's. I've replaced all 4 SL2000's and 4/8 of the 6.5 MW6509's so I'm getting up there with a speaker that can never be as good as a 2.3. At the risk of divorce, I may be interested. Is there a place I can see pics or can you PM?

I'll give you a ring if I'm driving through that area.

Sorry I didn't see the post earlier but yes the second set was from the guy in Milford. The second set is the bi-ampable version. I am lucky he was so close. I would love to find a SDA SRS pair around here, maybe someday.

I had them posted for quite some time in the "for sale" forum here at Club Polk. Talk, no action. :o Oh well.

Sad part for me is I love them, however I have no place to use them regularly.
Else I wouldn't sell them at all. These are hard-to-find. The RDO's are not even broken in yet.

    Best,

    Paul :D

I've heard the 2.3TLs and SRS 2s..imo they're not a huge difference, if any, between the two. That said, when I get back on my feet, I'll be shopping for one those two. Even with my 455 sq. ft. room the 1.2TLs are just unnecessary.

I understand what you're saying about room size. I definitely don't have enough room for my 1.2TLs to shine...but, they are incredible anyway.

My big amps are sadly relegated to the museum for now.

One of the requirements for my next house is a BIGGER room.:D

I like the fact that 2.3's are bi-amp (vertical) and AI-1 ready, and have the additional drivers to soak up more horsepower. I think you are right about sound other than when maxxed out, the 2.3's will fill a larger room with more pure sound. I'm "arm wrestling" with my wife as we speak.
