Thumbs down I like to chew ice.. I hate ice cream.

I usually have two ice trays I fill up every 1.5 days to two days. This is either from soda drinking, or for ice water, or to ice my coffee or tea. However, today as I finished my Coke I found I had roughly 1-1.5 inches of little ice cubes left in the glass.

I immediately started going at it with a vengeance. Around the third ice cube it occurred to me that chewing ice is terrible for teeth. I'm chewing ice right now. But I think my ice is special. No really, after it chilling my coke for a while they have all melted into half or less of their first size and are very very very easily chewed. Its like soft ice.. but its not soft, it just explodes with ease. I love it. Further, I love the taste of water here in Chicago. At first it was like coke flavored ice.. but soon the coke was gone and only natural H20 goodness remained. This ice also has textures, one part of it is smooth and another side of it might be very rough and almost.. porous.

After a few minutes I realized I was seriously getting into it so I had to google this. I found that people who chew ice may have iron deficiencies or more specifically be anemic. Regardless, I don't do this too often.. or do I? Usually if there are leftovers I go at it. Really, I just like frozen water in everything. Ice cubes are luxury that did not really exist 200 years ago.. except for maybe the eskimos. Awesome.

Anyhow, I've just finished all my ice. So, does anyone else chew their ice? Sorry for the crap thread and the precious time I've stolen from you.

No worries... I hear this condition is quite common.
With that being said, how many bodies do you have buried in your cellar?

Ok ok sorry to write so crazy. I just like cold things. I'm a skier.. As such when your in need of H20 half way down a run and too stoked to stop for a drink it is quite easy to pull the glove off and grab a handful of the frozen matter and eat it. Maybe it brings back memories and I've conditioned myself to enjoy this experience?

Don't think about this too hard. I just want to know does anyone else enjoy their ice?

Further, I should add I'm young and in college and the speech community I am part of uses unique and facetious lexicon that probably would not be understood by any of you unless you were to hear it in person with the appropriate intonation. What I mean is, don't take me seriously because I'm not being serious.

+10 I forgot to mention ice and booze is spectacular. Not that this is what you were going for but I have pondered how tasteful a MGD slushy might be. I realized this after leaving bottles of beer in the freezer too long.. Sure the little bit of alcohol did not freeze but if it was properly mixed.. I think the result could be awesome.

I used to do it as a kid sometimes. Something about that squeak is interesting. Other than that, a little too cold for my taste.

Chewing ice doesn't make you iron deficient. Craving ice to chew may be a sign of iron deficient anemia. There's a difference.

Not saying it's true or anything but I heard that Freud said chewing ice is a sign of sexual frustration. Seek professional help. There are many safe and cost-effective options available to you. :)

I believe it, since I also chew ice "with a vengeance", and do everything else people say means you're sexually frustrated, like peeling the label off beer bottles. The only problem is that it occurs even when I'm having sex regularly. Even if I'm iron deficient- I think the only reasonable solution is more sex.

I respect that. It's not so much a hatred of ice cream as a dislike of things with too much sugar. If I HAD to have ice cream and it HAD to be from say.. 31 flavors.. it would be daiquiri ice. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
