    Default Subwoofer specs

Tried searching and the FAQ, but couldn't find what I needed.

    Specs given as:

    Overall Frequency Response 20Hz - 160Hz
    Lower -3dB Limit 30Hz
    Upper -3dB Limit 125Hz

I just need the following to be clarified so I can stop guessing as to what I think it means:

What does is the significance of the "-3dB limit"; what does it mean?

Is the freq response of the speaker 20-160Hz or 30 to 125Hz?

    thanks.

The overall output would be 20-160 but at 30hz and below the output of the sub drops by as much as 3db and more as it gets lower.

    Thanks!

How does this drop in output "affect" music and movies' sound quality/quantity.

Basically that sub will not produce much below 30hz, and depending on the sub it might not even *really* go down to 30hz. For music, probably not going to miss much, but many movies have deep bass <30hz and you'll not get the full (or any) effect of that bass.
