Rear center speaker and sub suggestions.
OK. Ö Iím new to the forum. Iíve been reading it for some time now and have only recently contributed a few posts. This is a great forum. My only complaint about is that I have been spending an obscene amount of time on it.
Iíve been an owner of Polk Speakers since the LS90ís first appeared. They are still great and are making their new owner very happy. When I heard the LSi 9ís I had knew I had to have them so I went to school on the market/technology/sound of these babies and just started to put together a system. I donít really have a budget and am in no hurry. It took me over a year to get to this point and it looks like patience pays big dividends when designing a rig. Here is where Iím at so far:
2 LSi 9ís from Polk Direct via ebay auction (refurbished) - $595.00 the pair including shipping. 2 LSi 7ís through ebay (used). One tweeter needs replacing. $190.00 the pair including shipping. I figure the tweeter will be somewhere around $60.00 from Polk-Direct (I'll report back on the success/failure of this shameless attempt to save cash). Both in Ebony (although the light maple pair I recently saw on the forum are gorgeous! I wish I had never seen them as I am now considering spending my significant savings shown above on some maple panelsÖDAMN!)
Anyway, after fixing the LSi 7ís I will be ordering the LSi C for the front center.
I need advice for the rear center and possibly upgrading my aging Mirage sub (still sounds great). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for all the good advice/information in the past and apologies in advance if I broke any rules in my first real post.
