    He was shooting at something iron which alot of people do with such a powerful gun. You can hear the ring of the iron when it is struck and then the ricochet which sometimes happens but this time it came straight back to him hitting his ear muffs ripping them off his head. The shot had to be at least 500yrds because of the time it took to get to the target and back to him you can hear it comming back after it struck the iron he even had enough time to sit up and look before it hit him.
