Angry How to put 100 songs on a CD-R

I have tried unsuccessfully numerous times to burn an mp3 CD and it's just now working. I have tried Musicmatch, Windows Media, iTunes, and all kinds of free stuff off google. Is there something I'm not doing right? I have an Alpine CDA-9831 in my car and that's what I'm trying to do is burn as many songs as I can on one CD and get rid of some of my burnt CD's. Please somebody help...

When you say it's "not working", what's not working? Does the burn fail? Or does the Alpine simply fail to read it? Even if the Alpine fails, does the computer still read the disc when it's finished burning? Maybe your Alpine is just too sensitive.

Also, have you never heard of an MP3 player? Get an iPod for God's sake :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Well, are you finalizing the CD? My Kenwood will not read a CD if it hasn't been finalized.
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you!

Yes, after burning, you need to 'finalize' the cd or 'close the session'.

Also make sure it plays on the PC first.

There's a difference between burning an "mp3 cd" and a "music cd" (composed of mp3 files.

I'm guessing the problem starts there.........

+1. You can't fit 100 songs on a cd in 'music' format. 'Data' yes, but not music.
At least not that I've experienced.
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

A "music CD" composed of MP3 files is really a music CD with upconverted music files.

His Alpine unit (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-T92qHvw...-CDA-9831.html) has the ability to play data CDs filled with MP3s, so this should work, I imagine there is something else not going right today.

when burning the cd, if it asks to make a music cd or a data cd. choose data cd. MP3 is data format. A music cd is a different format. If your car stereo reads mp3 it will be the data format. You should be able to put 75 -130 songs on it depending on the bit rate the mp3 is ripped at.

If you have windows xp or later...then just drag and drop the songs to the drive, or highlight the songs and right click and select send to drive. Go to My Computer right click on the drive and choose open or explore it will open a window. You will see the songs you added once you are done click on write these files to cd.
