I have set up a new HT with Onkyo TX-SR706 Receiver feeding Polk RM8 all arround in 7.1 & Polk PSW111 sub. Samsung LN52A750 LCD & and Samsung BD-P2500 Blu-ray.
OK..the money is all gone now........on to setting it up.
My room dims are approximately 12'-8" Wide by 17'-2" Long with vaulted ceiling at 10'4" height running the length of the room on right channel side.
Center and fronts are placed on the top of a 60"W X 20"D X 25"H TV Stand with the 52" LCD wall mounted with bottom edge of the LCD 6" above the stand.
The wall mounted satelites are mounted high on the walls (due to constraints in running wires through the walls) at follows: The surround right and back right are both at approx. 8' high and the surround left and back left are at approx. 7'-4" high.
I had read recommendations to have the surrounds and backs at 2-3' above ear level so I decided to tilt my surronds and backs approx 17 degree downward resulting in the centerline of each passing over the primary listening position about 30" above ear level.
I would appreciate comments from those of you with more experience as I need assureance I have done a good job.
Thanks in advance!
