More pre advice please

OK, my last post was absurdly written. I've made things simple here.

I'm going to be purchasing a preamp very soon and the contenders are:

Audible illusions 3a
Quicksilver line staqe
Rogue Perseus
Primaluna Prologue 3
VTL 2.5
SAS Audio labs 10A

Previously had the Anthem pre 2l.

Anyone compare any of these or have opinions? These are all being considered used so generally less than $1k. Your expertise is appreciated as always.

This will go with a B&K 4420 amp. Will listen to mostly Jazz, acoustic, live sets, vocals and less hardrock and rap.

I haven't heard any of the preamps you listed, but I could comment on my Modwright tube preamp. It is just a little over $1k used though. It was a remarkable improvement from a $300 entry level tube preamp I was using. We have the same cdp! I used to power my Dyno's with a B&K 2220 amp and I never realized how much crud the amp was adding until I upgraded.

Yes, I'm accepting for now that it is likely a step back going from the Blue Circle amp to the B&K. The B&K may be a "temporary" piece.

Currently leaning toward the VTL as it has remote and HT bypass and seems easily compatible.

A couple of the others have some awkward features, specs etc.

Still open to any thoughts.
