Default Speaker wire and Banana Plugs

Over on Monoprice...great site if you need cables and such. As I look I wonder does banana plugs make a difference at all?

And just for spits and giggles, what do you recomend for wire from them?

banana plugs make switching out a lot easier, not much use if you don't switch out very often. I prefer spades or soldered/tinned leads in such case. 12 gauge is more than enough for most applications; if you're running really long lengths (100 ft or more) and/or a TON of power (300+ watts), 10 gauge may be more appropriate.
