Default Must Have Music for 5.1

Greetings, I thought of creating this thread to explore the best music that's available for 5.1 enjoyment.

It would be great if everyone can enter their favorite 5.1 specific music here using the formating below, i.e. specify the genre first as a category and then the Album/ Artist under the specific genre category. Make sure to incude the type of media (SACD, DVD-Audio etc.)

Thanks and looking forward to a great collection here!

    Example:

    Smooth Jazz

    1) Winelight - Grover Jr. Washington (DVD-Audio)

    Rock

    1) Hell Freezes Over - Eagles (DTS)
    2) In Absentia - Porcupine Tree

    Electronic

    1) Audio - Blue Man Group (DVD-Audio)

    Electronica

    1) Maximum Minimum - Kraftwerk (SACD, DVD)

these guys are the grandfarthers of electronica music, they have been around sicne the early 70's, and have very clean structured sound, no one sounds like Kraftwerk.
now im not too sure about the sacd version, but the dvd is outstanding, the dts mix is quite impressive and they still know how to put on a show. well worth a listen.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I think it's the only CD even worth listening to in 5.1 anymore IMO.

I used to prefer multi-channel for everything, but that was before I actually got some half decent equipment. I think the only reason I preferred multi-channel before was because having many bad sounding speakers was better than having two bad sounding speakers...lol...it helped to disguise how bad my system really sounded.

Now that I have some half-decent equipment though...I've realized that music sounds MUCH better in two channel.

Personal preference comes into play though obviously.

I do like listening to some of my live Grateful Dead CD's in 5.1...but those are few and far between anymore. Those are usually 2-channel these days as well...

I love my two channel vinyl but still love great surround music as well. The above are only some of my very favorite. I have somewhere around 500 surround selections in SACD DVD-Audio or DTS cd formats. I also have many analog transfer (4 channel LP) to dts cd's.

I've got a copy of that on vinyl and the sound is superb. I didn't even know there was a surround release. I've got to check it out.
