Default For all those approaching 60 plus

....finally got my dream system together . after THESE many YEARS. The speakers shown in pic 1 are not IDENTIFIED. See if you can name them.....someone MIGHT get 3 out of 4.

    Pic 2 .....tells the STORY.

I got the Maggies ands missed on the Polk's. No clue on the others. Please tell me that you don't have all of these hooked up at one time? Or do you?

....unfortunately can only play 3 pairs at a time. The DCM qed's form 1979 are part of HT system. The Polk's SDA-crs's are driven by a B&K st140 amp . The Maggies and Allison's are swapped out with a Nad 2600A amp......both fed by a B&K pro10mc preamp. And sometimes on a stored Acurus RL-11 preamp ....on occasion.

Nice job Dee, an eclectic group of speakers to go with your decor. Allisons, SDAs and Maggies are all definately aquired tastes.........each a spatial delite.

......don't forget the DCM qed. It was the forerunner of the DCM Time Windows. Time Windows were a pair of qed's in each speaker....with a v front.....almost like the Allison One and Two's. I also had a pair of Time Window 1's and 3's over the course. The Allison's win out.....but who cares. They were all a TREAT to losten to.

Do you KNOW they made DCM Time Window Sevens......only a couple of thousand pairs......very rare.

I think all you need are a nice pair of Quad DC10s or 20s.

....HT is not my forte......although I was one of the first to be into video. When I was in college a portable unit for video was a 40 lb reel to reel 1/2" video tape deck and a studio camera. I worked thru all video formats and can appreciate were it has gone. Actually I am astounded. But....I am a poor retired Architect and between a big screen and 3 pairs of Classic speakers....you guessed it.

Had a set of Pioneer HPM100's when I got out of the Navy, and wound up a little later with a set of Allison One's.
They were a little different. :)

You mentioned your 3 sets of classic speakers; I'd refer to them as "classy".

    ..... and cool.

....in my youth I went thru Dynaco. Advents, Klh, Bose 901. EPI and Genesis. I loved the journey. Stayed with Genesis Physics II's and JBL Century 100's thru my Rock & Roll years. Lent toward the Genesis after that.....

....Accoustic , Jazz and voice require a different speaker.....the quest was on.
