Default Blown Monitor 60 tweeter in India - What should I do?

I think I have blown tweeters in my Polk Audio Monitor 60 speakers that I bought about a year back from a Polk Audio dealer right here in Bangalore.

I have two questions - firstly, will this damage to tweeters be covered under warranty?

And secondly, if I do have to pay for spares, then how much should I expect to pay for the tweeters here in Bangalore vs. the cost of spares in the US? If they work out significantly cheaper there, I can ask a friend to carry them over the next time he is visiting.

    Thanks,

    Samiran

Have you asked the dealer about warranty coverage and cost of spares?

Hi Sami, if you had bought from Profx in bangalore they are authorised dealers in India, and you will be covered under 5 year warranty, being said that, what rig are you running your M60 with. If you are running it with underpowered AVR or AMP you need to relook at that.

    Thanks for the responses.

@anonymouse: I have spoken to the dealer and they are sending someone over today to take a look at it - we haven't discussed warranty or the cost of spares yet.

@jacob.simpson: Yes I did buy it from ProFX. I am running my speakers with an HK3380 receiver - I bought the receiver before the speakers, and I did check with the dealer and confirm that the receiver would be compatiable with the speakers, so I hope that isn't the reason there's a problem

Dont worry Sami, am sure if its from profx you will get it sorted out easily, Polk has amazing CS, since you bought from POLK authorised Dealer no issues at all. Just make sure Your receiver has not speaker wire strands shorting, Hope you did not clip the AVR. Is both the Tweeters not working or its one channel, if its only one swap them and see if the other works or with the surround incase if you have.
You need to read lot of articles about speakers (especially tweeter) getting blown by under powered receivers. Just google it.
