Marketed under the Carver name by Phoenix Gold before they lost rights to the name. Pre-Sunfire stuff that is pretty intriguing but you'd NEVER find parts if there were issues. It was the predecessor to the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver, although runs MUCH MUCH hotter.

was this stuff any good and does it have collectible value. I did not know it even existed until today.. kind of like the silver1 pre... perhaps prototypes?
No John, these are not prototype and I doubt they have a collectible value. It's not the same Carver stuff you are thinking. Most sought after Carver stuff are what everyone talked about in Carver Forum and made in the U.S.A.
spoke to the owner of this gear... he states the amps are prototypes. He worked for pheonix gold during their development and they were used at several trade shows/events. He is uncertain as to the pre/processor, but states there were pallets of them ready to ship, and they have been since destroyed when Phoenix lost the rights to the Carver name... He is going to provide me a full story on them in the next day or two as well as better pictures...
If they are indeed what he claims them to be, are they worth what he is asking?
Well, things worth only if there is the next guy willing to pay for what you ask of. In this particular case, not many people knows these exist (not prototype but not marketed due to the rights dispute) and even the folks in Carver Forum are unsure of. So, the value is in the mouth of the owner and what people want to pay for these stuff.
To be frank, do you think they are worthy to collect? I would not collect these myself for 2K since it seems to have uncertain resale value for an investment. But 2K for a processor and 3 stereo amps for a good HT system is really very reasonable. Go for it if you want to use in your rig till there is another person wanting to pay a fortune for it. :D
Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.
