its funny how in most states a motorcyclist does NOT need a helmet, but if I back my car out of the driveway and park it in front of my house I had better have a seatbelt on! I had a neighbor get a ticket for this very reason! And it is insane to allow pot or any other mind altering drug to be sold legally without doctors prescription.

    "stemming from Sunday." Hee Hee.

It has more use than most of what is pushed by Pharma.
If it was made in one of their labs, and was Patentable, you bet it'd be legal. It'd be touted as the new wonder drug.

This is what happens with socialism . . . a degradation of moral standards. How has the legalization of a gateway drug become an answer for the government to raise money. This is just another example of socialists making their constituents dependent on the state. Tax them into submission. Put them on welfare. Then, drug them to make sure they have no motivation left to survive without the gov.

Pot is no worse than Alcohol. I don't smoke, but I've tried it. I know people who do. I've found it no worse than the ~4 beers I drink most nights. It's the people who are stupid and irresponsible that ruin it for everyone else.

To be honest, legalizing grass is WAY less harmful than making Oxycontin a drug that's available. One gets you high. The other is a narcotic that makes you age 10 years in 3 and is no different than crack IMO.

Wow...if this guy was stuffing a cat in a bong, he has problems that are completely unrelated to pot.

I'm all for legalization though. The concept of pot being illegal is pretty morally bankrupt if you ask me, especially when you look at the fact that cigarettes and booze are legal.

    Take my example here...

Say you have two houses right next to each other. One house is full of people that are drinking alcohol, the other house full of people smoking pot.

The house full of drunk people...People are falling down wasted, stuff is getting knocked down and broken, people are driving home completely **** ass wasted as hell, people are puking all over the place, women are being taken advantage of, two guys are getting into a fight over the rights to take advantage of said drunk woman. This fight leads to a big fist fight. The cops get called, and the drunk guy tries to attack the cop. Not a very pretty sight eh?

Now we move next door, to the house where everyone is smoking pot. Everyone is sitting around, listening to music, having intelligent conversations about the world, maybe playing some video games. No body is arguing, everyone is very respectful of one another, no women are being raped. The only argument in the whole house all night long is over the last damn twinkie in the cupboard. The people that were arguing over said twinkie end up sharing it in the end. These people are definitely the definition of "criminal" aren't they?

Everyone here who still has the propaganda from the 40's and 50's ingrained in their head, read a book called "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" by Jack Herer. It's a very enlightening book.;)

You wanna fix our economy? Legalize pot. Problem solved. Everyone may flame me now.

Sure, killing yourself slowly with anything is stupid. I've had to firsthand watch my mother die of cancer. Was it lung cancer? Throat? Anything related to her choices of substances to partake in? Hell no. It was a completely random occurance that caused her to die of multiple brain tumors. A long, slow problem over a total of 3 years. Which, as a 13-16 year old, I witnessed. From that, comes my opinion that I should do what I want to do, and enjoy it while I can, because like her, I might not live to see 50 because of something unrelated. She never smoked, rarely drank (never in front of us kids), was a devout Christian, and I got an enormous amount of my character from her and my father.

I don't drink if I'm going to drive. I chose to smoke cigarettes, but have been trying to cut that out. I don't smoke pot because it's illegal, and as such, you can never trust what you're getting or who it's from. It's sorry to say, but by making it legal and regulating who can produce it (like tobacco), you might just save a few lives.

Sorry to go off on a rant, but I've had more than my typical 4 drinks, and every once and a while a guy's gotta get stuff off his chest. Here's hoping it was coherent. Who knows, maybe I'll get my first time-out a-la Polk. I'm up for it, lets all go sit in the corner and have a smoke/drink. Whatever your pleasure... I'm sure we'll sing Kum-bay-ya later.

    - Cheers.

    Agree with that, totally.

Industrial hemp fiber; a million and one uses. But the Corn Lobby is mega-powerful, so we'll suppress hemp and push corn for every use under the sun.
Ethanol from corn instead of hemp ? Hmmm.

There's another point I forgot to make. Wanna hear some interesting facts? Ya know what the primary economic staple of our country was during it's inception? Hemp. Ya know the ships that the pilgrims came over here on? There were over 60 tons of hemp on that ship. I'm not saying everyone on board was chiefing up all the way to America...the sails, the rigging ropes all of the storage bags, clothing and hundreds of other items were all constructed oh hemp.

Ya know what American flags were originally made of? Hemp. Along with all American money up to a certain point.

Did I mention the Henry Fords original Model T Ford was completely constructed of AND fueled by hemp?

So a lot of people think corn based ethanol is actually helping us? No...corn is a grossly inefficient fuel source. The most efficient source of fuel in our country is...you guessed it...hemp!

It might as well be legalized. People are never going to stop smoking pot. More people smoke pot now than when the so called "war on drugs" was first started.

I can see this becoming the next "Emotiva Story"...lol

Don't "plan" on having kids ;)

If I do, my outlook will change dramatically.

In PA, the tax on tobacco is going up

    Cartons $7 per
    Packs, $0.70 per
1lb bags of loose tobaccy... $24 per

The last one is what pissed me off... that's 2/3's again of what it currently is.

This is actual fact that you can look up.

Hemp fibers can be turned into a type of plastic that's very similar in it's make up to carbon fiber. This isn't that crazy of a concept. It was both lighter, and stronger than steel. with a much higher tensile strength. Ever seen Cheech and Chongs up in smoke? The van in that movie that's made from "fiber weed" is actually a real process. Granted, the Model T didn't look like a rolling pot-mobile. It looked just like any other car going down the road.

You can also make paint from hemp seed oil, this is also not that crazy of a concept. People have been doing this for thousands of years, and hemp seeds were actually one of the first sources of oil based paints.

The tires weren't made from hemp. I exaggerated...lol

Also, there is no such thing as to much.;)

Younger America is already being prescribed "leader drugs" when they complain of depression or a headache or some other BS symptom that they get off of chatting with other young'ns. It comes from both the illegal AND the legal sides.

    Gateway drug, that is........

My brother was a classic example of the "professionals" offering the "gateway drug". Once hooked, he had to progress. Oh, he did, all the way to another state under sheriff's orders for a rehab............long story short, I had the real thing that was illegal. He was given a "prescription" and look were he ended up.

There are MANY more examples from my life I can offer from various folks from many different walks of life. Pot? **** dude, that's like aspirin or tums to some who have tried legal prescription drugs.

That's it, rant over. I have better fish to fry than to sit here and chat about common sense. I have seen too many lives ruined and too many arguments over the "I'm taking the high road" crowd -vs- the "I'm taking the Hiiiggghhh road" crowd. I think I'll have a beer now.
