    Default Paradigm cc-350

Just wonder whether a Paradigm cc-350 center speaker would hook up well with my RTIA5's. I can get a new one never used still in a box here for 150.00 on a local buy and sell. I would obviously have to check it out but just wanted to get some thoughts on using it with my Polks.

No it will not. it's a completely different sound. If you want a center channel, get the correct matching center to your speakers. If you like the Paradigm, then get the matching main speakers.

The front 3 are absolutely critical if you want seemless movement from left center and right.

I want to tread lightly here and say that I understand the importance of timbre matching...BUT... I have all Polk speakers with the exception of my center channel which is a Cerwin Vega, I think it sounds pretty seamless to me. However Mantis could be right on the money because ive never heard a Paradigm center channel. sometimes ya just gotta go with what sounds good to YOU. Good Luck.

Timbre matching is important to a degree, but what I have experienced is the fact that many different brand speakers can match up fine in any setup. Ive used a Jamo center that sounded great with my Mirage fronts, Ive used a Klipsch center with a couple different pairs of Polks that also matched very nicely. If you can, audition the Paradigm center with your 5's, adjust the volume level of the center and find where it sounds best to you, then sit back and listen to many different sources. Paradigm makes quality speakers, so it just mite match up with the quality Polks. If you do decide to buy it, let us know how it sounds with your 5's.
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -
