Default Calling the Audiophiles/Expertise for Dynaudio Focus 220 and Polk Lsi 25

    Hi ,

I just listened the DynAudio Focus 220 and this is first time I realized what actual the sound quality is. The detail clear and crisp sound quality no doubt is amazing.

I have yet to hear the Polk Lsi series and may be a week or more dealer has promised me this time to come up with Lsi 9 not the 25.

    No matter my query is

Dynaudio price is real high I want to know that if pocket allows one should go for the Dynaudio Focus 220, is that real worth despite of the fact that when we could have Lsi 25 at comparatively good price then Dynaudio.

Any comments, expertise audiophile please advice.

If your budget for speakers is X dollars, listen to everything you can within that budget. If you find a speaker you like, buy it! Not being flippant here, but the dollar per speaker comparison does not make sense to me. If your budget allows a more expensive speaker, why settle for less if that is what makes you happy. On the other hand, if the less expensive speaker floats your boat, you've saved some money for more music.

I've seen the Dynaudios sell as low as $1100 used. One just sold on Audiogon for that price. The Polk Lsi25's are about the same price used too, so buy the one's that make you smile the most!

Used one I inquired and one dealer is ready to sell the 10 Days demo Dynaudio focus 220 at reasonable price although there is a corner damage on the right top corner of the left speaker but no air gap is there its like a soft dent.

Query is should I go for the used speakers are they still good. As said I had heard them and they sound good. But should I go for used ones.

I just bought some used dynaudio audience 70's and love them.. But they are in almost perfect shape and 9 years old. I lucked out. The owner before me really took care of them! I called dynaudio before buying them and asked a bunch of questions about what goes bad over time and how to fix it.. Basically they are meant to last forever if taken care of in the right environment.

They told me if you keep them out of direct sunlight and in normal humidity, they should last forever. I guess the rubber around the drivers is what usually goes bad in a bad environment. The rubber around my 9 year old drivers are just as soft as my polk rti8s were.

Actually it doesnt do to bad.. I have it configured at -4db and the 70's at -2db.. I do miss the way it blended with the rti8s for movies though, but I plan on changing everything soon. The dynaudios will be in a dedicated 2 channel setup and I will probably build a 5.2 home theater setup.. I will sell the csi3 when that time comes. The csi3 is alot more forward than the laidback 70's and kind of takes over when configured at the same db. I like the polk rti lineup but I will probably demo alot of brands before I make the home theater purchase decision. I havent started to finish the basement yet so I have alot of time to decide.

Dynaudio is in a higher class then the Lsi speakers. bang for the buck Lsi is hard to beat. you pay more for Dynaudio because you get more.

If you want a good pair or so of Dynaudio speakers, check out my flea market add. I have a 5.1 system up for sale, check it out.

All my gear/speakers I buy used! I can't afford to buy full retail prices on quality HiFi equipment. This is an expensive hobby. My new (used) Tyler acoustics that I recently bought had a small blemish on one of the speaker corners- but I'm not sweatin' it.
