    Both.
    I use RTi A7's, CSi A6, and RTi A3's.
They sound great with Music and Movies, IMO.

    Both.

I'm happy with the RTi's for HT, but just wanted something a bit better for 2 ch. I haven't heard the RTi A line, but my guess is I would still have done a seperate system.

Both for me - but biased more for music.

Music since HT was in it's infancy when I put together my first system. When I made the transition to HT my speakers sounded and continue to sound just fine.

Buy speakers that do music well & they will do just fine for HT as well. Get a beefy center channel as well, since 99% of movies go through your CC.

This is a question I now ask myself.

I now look for theater first speakers, then music. When you find speakers that do both for you , then it's a home run. Most of my life I looked at music first speakers.

So this really depends on your needs. I do about 50 50 in my system. But I use the system a lot for video games so thats like theater as well. So 60 40 would be the new split now.

Purchased the LSi's and amps for both, although I listen to music about 90% of the time.

I purchased speakers to perform both duties. In real-world application, however, the speakers see at least 80% movies and 20% music (lumping concerts into the music section).

That said, I auditioned speakers prior to purchase with only music I was intimately familiar with.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I started out thinking HT. Big mistake for me. Still back-tracking. If I could do it over I would focus on 2.1, then add a center, then move up to simple 5.1 by picking up some OWM3's or 5's. I just don't care whether the background matches perfectly. Now if I had a quiet room for two channel, then, well, I would be broke....

All depends on what you listen to more.Movies or music. Most times, picking a speaker for music first, will do well on HT also, not allways the case the other way around.

Any speaker that handles dynamics well is going to be just fine for HT, but some dynamic HT speakers aren't very subtle and struggle with various types of music. My system is a dual purpose rig and I've gone through various stages of development. I wouldn't put anything in the rig that couldn't pass the music first test, but they need to be extremely dynamic HT speaks too, for my satisfaction.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
