    Default Good Deals?

I recently purchased a new AVR (Elite VSX01) and am looking for an inexpensive pair of surrounds to try 7.1. I was browsing my local CL and came across a couple sets that seem like good deals. Found a set of black
RT-10's for $100 and a set of maple Monitor 50's for $150. My current speakers are LS50 mains, CS350 center, RT600i surrounds and a SVS 25-31PC+ sub. I know that mixing between the lines is not the best but I have been very pleased with my current setup. To me the RT-10's look like a better match since they have similar tweeters but the Monitor 50's look to be a better deal. I'm not sure though how the silk tweeters in the 50's would blend with my current set-up.
Any thoughts/comments would be much appreciated.

Possibly but your price is a bit high for my budget.

I am not familiar with the RT-10's or Monitor 50's.
Their price seems very inexpensive and a likely a good deal.
whereas The LS f/x ... original MSRP listing.. I believe was $599.00

Ideally we could compare the sound and you could make a choice on your preference. Sound first then price.

I am willing to reduce my price as I have not had any interest so far.

If you could email me privately joseph.v.chen@verizon.net
I will provide the details of the speakers to you. just as a side note .... I once had dinner with Matt Polk and Sandy Gross at the Chicago CES along with a current member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra many years ago.

just thought the LS f/x would be a nice match with the CS350.
I actually had the Center Channel speaker but that was sold to another Polk Club member. I got blasted on that one as I am a newbie and broke several posting rules. Had to learn real fast !

    I searched the products page
to read on the RT10 and Monitor 50.

These are both floor standing speakers.

The LS f/x are much smaller.

I appreciate you letting me comment on your posting.

I had already searched the product page before my post but thanks for watching my back:D

I'm aware the speakers in question are towers but for my layout that's a plus.
It would help your sale if you had some feedback. If you DID sell your 350 to a CP member, they should update your sales status to give you some creds.

Another option....I noticed Fry's has R300's for $50 a pop. Still silk tweets but would it really make a difference using them as surround backs?
Anyone else care to comment except for JVC?

    Ken,
I wouldn't worry to much about matching the tweeters for surrounds in your set -up and just go for the best deal.If you don't care for 7.1 then your not out of too much coin.In my current set up I'm using rti 55's for surrounds with my lsi in front and I'm happy.
