CSi25 Center and M10 Rears; M20 or R300?

I was able to pick up a CSi25 center and a pair of M10 for rears really cheap on ebay. I was planning on getting the M20s from Newegg for $140 shipped as my fronts. But I am also eying the R300s from Frys for $123 shipped.

The CSi25 center says it's a match for the R or M series speakers. Does that mean the M and R series are a match to each other? I thought I would have to get the M series as fronts if I have the M10s as rears, but if the CSi25 can match the R or M, can the M and R match each other? I kind of like the appearance of the R300s better than the M20s, and they're slightly cheaper. Suggestions? Thanks.

I have M20's and R50's (M and R series) and the drivers look to be identical. The R50 has two drivers, whereas the R300's and M20's have a single driver. Pick the one that you think looks better. If it happens to be cheaper, that is your gain. The CSi25 is a matching center for them.

They are nice sounding speakers -great for those on a budget and far better than any HTiB speakers I've heard.

Thanks for the input. I may just end up going with the R50s. I wish there was somewhere that carried even one of the three I'm looking at so I could go listen. With Circuit City shut down, I don't know of any stores locally that have any of them though.

The R50 though less priced in Frys does not mean cheaply made, I have got 2 pairs to run my main and surround, simply the best within that price point or even i would say tad better than Monitor 50 which i compared, Reg R300 best suited for surround or if you are using a very good sub i would seriously skip R50 and go for R300 (i gifted a pair to my brother) i personally liked the R300 than R50 with a good sub. But without a sub R50 simply trumps both R300 and Mon 50.

I have to turn it down from the auto-calibration levels though because I live in an apartment. So it gives more than enough bass from the sub. Would it still be worth the extra $50 for the R50 over the R300?

If its an Apartment Stick to R300, i got a warning letter from my leasing office :D when i was testing these. R300 is also much lighter to lug around or if you are moving.

I do plan on moving into a house in the next couple years though, so I think I'll just spend a little extra and get the R50 to futureproof.

Good choice on the R50s. They match very well with the Csi25
