Default NEW! Diana Krall, Chris Botti and Madeline Peroux

These are great new jazz releases and not a peep on the Polk music Forums. I've been listening to all of them and been impressed. I am not ready to do an in depth critique. Anybody else fans of these artists???

Yes! But I don't have the new albums yet. :(

I am listening to the new Jane Monheit's, "The Lovers, The Dreamers and Me." I like it and I especially love her "Rainbow Connections."

Looking forward to buying Krall, Botti, and Peroux down the road. Funds currently tied up due to wife's near-future surgery (preventative but still dangerous).

you know I do, Carl. In fact, just ordered the latest Krall's Quiet Nights this afternoon. I'll let you know my impression. Lots of negative review on this, but I gotta have it to review it myself. :0

My first impression of the new Diana Krall CD was, "Why is she whispering the songs", since the CD title is, "Quiet Nights", it somewhat makes sense but I prefer Diana when she is belting out the songs. Decent CD though, I like it.

    Hello, Gang!

I have not been on the site for a while, and came back to see if someone else heard the "Quiet Nights" yet :-D What timing!

After a long and exhausting day at work, she's magically made it better (or were that the LSi's?) My headache was gone after the first 15 minutes. I have not critically listened to the album yet, but my 1st impression of it as a whole is very pleasant.

I keep seeing the negative reviews and comments on Quiet Nights, so I have held off ordering it.

ok. Got a chance to listen one round of Quiet Nights. It's not a bad album, definitely mellower compared to her other albums. If you heard Jacintha's album, it has those slow, melancholy mood to it, even on the more up-tempo songs. It's not as engaging as her prior albums, but that could be because I only spent one round. It's soothing, borderline elevator music, close to Astrud Gilberto's timing. Perhaps because she was not playing on the piano makes her less involved emotionally. All in all, IMHO it is still worth owning (as if you could rent it)...

Fances, the Diana Krall concert disk will be coming out on Blu Ray in June, I think.

Check out the Chris Botti disk. The concert is also on Blue Ray. The Josh Groban song will hit your heart like dark shadow. Great stuff! So is Madeline Peroux. Love that NO jazz and Billie Holiday voice.

I'm a fan of Chris Botti. I've been to 9 of his shows already. I pretty much have all his cd's. Unless I missed one, there are 10 cd's and 3 dvd's. I have a few Diana Krall but no Peroux.

Cool; I'm a Madeleine Peyroux fan; wasn't aware of this new release.

I'll have to buy that Diana Krall's CD just because I love Brazilian music.

Got mine: Diana Krall Live in Rio [Blu Ray]. Very good recording, PQ is detailed, noticing it to be a bit soft in some parts of the show, but that might be due to lighting. It has the same quality as DK Live in Paris. The same top notch crews, and to boot, Paulinho da Costa was playing in his hometown.
