    Default Jeff Beck USA Tour

Was anyone fortunate enough to check out Jeff Beck on his US tour
that just wrapped up? I used to play guitar when I was younger -
probably haven't picked it up in 10yrs or so. But just understanding
the instrument and having the chance to witness a REAL guitar player
finesse his way through the show made me weep and laugh at the same
time. The man is a genius!!! I was lucky enough to catch him at the
Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee. The best show I have ever seen in my
    entire life!!!!
If anyone is a Jeff Beck fan, I strongly encourage you to get the DVD -
Performing this week.......Live at Ronnie Scott's......it basically mirrors
the tour he just finished in the U.S., except on the DVD he has Eric Clapton, Joss Stone and Imogen Heap as guests sitting in on a couple of tunes.
Simply awesome!!! Can't give the performance enough praise - Absolutely fantastic!! Still get goose bumps thinking about it!!!!

    Thumbs up

Yeah, Tal Wilkenfeld - a helluva bassist at 22 or 24. He mentions how they crossed paths in the studio and basically how this whole lineup came about.
It's in the interview part of the disc.
Gotta admit, each one on their own is incredible.
Together, they left me speechless, weeping, laughing and shaking my head
to the music, all at the same time. Being a Beck fan since the early 70's and
being familiar with all the music they played that night, and being in such an
intimate venue (had my elbow on the stage the entire show) I believe I may
still be in a state of shock:D

Tal was suggested to him by his drummer (the one he's used for awhile) Vinnie Coulatta. She played with him at the Eric Clapton Guitar Festival (another dvd I highly recommend). If you Google her there is some information about her and she does have a cd out.

She is a little dynamo and can really play that bass. She really gets into the music.

Jeff Beck is an incredible guitarist who has a unique style that no one else seems to have. He's always done his own thing and never became all that mainstream. I have a dozen or so boots and he is an incredible live player. Always been one of my top 5 favorite guitarists. The whole rock, jazz, progressive fusion thing going on is always cool.

Yep,, thats where I first saw/remember her from,, the "crossroads festival",, she really does get into it. Many years ago,, in the 70's to be specific,,I saw Jeff in a relatively small venue,by todays standards-- he closed the show as he walked into the front few rows playing "voodoo chile",,, now thats one boot/copy that I would like to own,, ah,,, those days,,sweet.
