Subwoofer connection question

I'm replacing my passive subwoofer that came with my Samsung SRS 5.1 with a PSW10. The subwoofer connection is speaker wire (no RCA jack). My question is do I simply connect the speaker wire to either left or right channel on the PSW10 or is their some benefit in connecting to both channels by putting pigtails on the speaker wire at the SW and running them to the other channe?l
