I agree with the reflection problem however, when it comes to looks it gives the room richness, glamour and definitely added looks to the gear infront of it. You never answered the question if the mirror effect was distracting when watching movies?

No, it's not distracting when watching movies because there is no light coming from the back of the TV screen. Hence, no reflection. Unless you have a light shined directly facing the mirror it does not bother me.

I've had dedicated AC outlets and breaker for my display rack of used gear (mainly TVs), dedicated AC outlets and breaker for the front counter which was used to show the client the end result repair of their gear and of course invoicing equipment. At the back of the room, I had 2 workstation/islands for repairing and testing gear with dedicated outlets and breaker (one of the island was dedicated for TV repairs and testing while the other one was mainly for audi and most smaller shelf type gear such as amplifier receivers, VCRs , tape decks, CD palyers etc... I had multiple power bars running from each area. Happened to me me a couple times that a breaker would pop but it was mainly while working on microwave oven which draw more power than most gears.

Wow, Ｉ used to fix audio gear when I was in high school, on the A/V squad. Never blew a breaker in my current HT, but let's just say it's happened to me a couple of times also...

Just imagine like 15 outlets sticking out the back of the tv stand, 3 power strips, a xbox 360 PS, Wii PS, a router, and a usb interfact - all lining the back of a TV stand about 4 ft tall.. lol

On top of that - I am hiding EVERY wire, you can't see a single one from the front it and I get very low noise. All the power cables have in-line filters (the 2 ch rig) and on top of that the MIT Z Centers filters, and its power cables has dual filters...

so VERY quiet noise floor after all of that.

I will not install dedicated circuits in my room. Now when I move out - different story.

Taking the time to do a neat hiding cable job is great. I hate cable clutters, some that looks like Xmas three. Let's face it, one spends good money and turn around making it look like a stak pile of gear in a cluttered test worshop. you know what I mean...

I think your filters might also be helpfull and we have to realise that usually a small portion of the gear is used at once however, a few dedicated breakers is great when possible. Dedication for PJ, then one for A/V rack (depending on amount of gear involved) and making sure unrelated A/V gear is out of any gear cct path for example.

I actually do picture the outlets, bars and all but I'd be very curious to see physical pics, should be interesting.

And I dont even have a HT preamp and amps or other speakers ---- my cable situation would multiply VERY qickly...

For some reason, the video side of things is always more complicated in my setups. Source switchers, receivers, projector/TV, etc. always seem to have more connections than everything else!!

Just to report back...

The cable wrappers Shawn gave me were exactly what I was looking for. I will post some before/after pics of the system with the cable wraps - it is a night and day difference!! Thanks!
