    Default Denon 2809/Canton HT setup

I know I made an earlier thread about the Pioneer Elite SC-05 and I would really like to get it but the powers that be at Pioneer say they don't make a 220VDC SC-05. Since I really don't want to plug a conditioner into a voltage converter I decided to look around a bit at what Europe had to offer for AVR/Speaker systems. The best setup that I found that I have heard before (previous products) and within my pricerange is...

    Denon 2809
    Canton GLE470 Floorstanding
    Canton GLE420 Bookshelf
    Canton GLE455 Center
    Magnat Quantum 630a 12" Sub

    Price: :$2700 or 2000 euros

From what I have heard Canton is the German equivilent of Polk and I have heard speakers from these guys before, they sound pretty good.

I could not find a German retailer that sells SVS or Velodyne subs so needless to say I was dissappointed but Magnat makes pretty good subs and I could always add another in the future if my better half lets me.

If you could chime in on what I found it would be greatly appreciated. I am quite sure that this setup would rock the house as I have a decent size room to fill and I am already pushing the budget the wife gave me by about $1000

    Thanks, Vet

I can't help you with all your questions but this might be of interest for you concerning SVS sub availability in Germany.

I stand corrected, thanks...looks like I'll have to add another $500 to the pricetag.

Looks like I'm getting an SVS SB12-Plus instead of the Magnat...it's only 300 euros (10 million dollars) more
