SEATTLE -- Mary Kay Letourneau will soon be back in the media spotlight. She and her former sixth-grade student, Vili Fualaau, will be hosting a “Hot for Teacher” night at a Seattle nightclub.

47-year-old Letourneau served 7 ½ years in prison after a jury convicted her of raping Fualaau.

The couple first met when Fualaau was in the second grade.

Their relationship became sexual when he was 12 and she was 34-years-old.

The two now have two children and have been married for four years.

The bar’s owner says it’s OK for Letourneau and her husband to have some fun on a Saturday night. The event begins 9:30 p.m. Saturday at a Pioneer Square bar.

that's not the point. he's 12. he isn't able to made decisions about sex and what not. she groomed him since he was in second grade.. talk about effed up.

How different would it be if this was in high school and the teacher was just out of college??? I remember being attracted to lots of student teachers when I was in high school...

There wouldn't be if you are 12 & she is an ADULT! It's still against the law & she is a pedophile!

There is nothing wrong or illegal with you being a horny little boy. It's the adult teacher who is responsible for ignoring you til you lose interest.

She stalked that boy from grade school & waited till he had more hormones than brain & took advantage of it.

Would you feel the same way if it was a man who had done this to a girl?

It would still be unethical even if not illegal, in some states the age of consent is 16 but it doesnt make it right for even a College professor to take advantage of a student. You as a teacher are in a position of authority.

Excellent point Cathy. Either way you look at it, an adult took advantage of a little kid and that's messed up. Completely irresponsible for an educator and she of all people should know better. Talk about robbing the craddle!
