    hey bud...

well there were a few things i was gonna say "if this.. then that... yada yada" but this post gave me the info needed to be more clear...

the head has a 4 v sub out - so u've got about the "max" in the area of pre-amp power -- no room for improvement (nor any need) there.

two GNX 124's --- single 4 ohm coil... that's certainly enough "sub-age" (yes i know i sound like a 1985 high schooler) to do the job.

its the amp that seems to eb the problem

according to the website you gave me... that amp does 65 x 2 at 4 ohms stereo... or 190 x 1 @ 4 ohms bridged.

now if u're running stereo then u're only getting 65 watts per sub.. if you're running bridged, then two 4 ohm spekaers in parallel = 2 ohms... so u're running hte amp 1) hot and 2) only getting 190 watts (or 95 watts per speaker.. which is still low).

you need to get a little more juice... in the amp department.

something around 150 - 200 watts per sub (as the gnx is rated 175 per sub) would definately do the trick me thinx.

amp suggestions on the cheap cheap...
    1) coustic 401DB - 400 x 1 at 2 ohms - $299
    2) JBL bp300.1 - 300 x 1 at 2 ohms - $239
    3) Lightning Audio B350.1 - 350 x 1 at 2 ohm - $179
    4) Mtx thunder 4250D - 300 x 1 at 2 ohms - $209
    5) Rockford Fosgate 351M - 350 x 1 at 2 ohms $249
    6) US Acoustics - USX600D - 375 x 1 at 2 ohms $169

any of those amps should be a big improvement.... they are listed in no particular order.. my personal pics in order would be the MTX (which is on sale), then the Fosgate, then the JBL.

They are all available at www.sounddomain.com

www.carstereotime.com or www.onlinecarstereo.com should have all of those amps and most likely be cheaper
