Default An Elegant solution to a nasty problem

I have been wracking what is left of my only remaining brain cell trying to find a better solution for placing my turntable in my system, as The last place I wanted it was on top of my Sunfire amp, and there was no more room at the in for it in my audio rack. What I came up with was using three pieces of polished quarter inch glass joined together so that I could make a shelf above the Sunfire. I have two inches of clearance all around the amp and a stable platform for the turntable over the top of the amp.:)

I am pleased with the results and thought I would share....

Looks good, does the amp get hot or the turntable rumble or anything ?

They are shelves that you mount to the wall specifically for TTs.

I have no trouble with heat dissipation from the Sunfire, and no rumble from the table. It seems to be a pretty solid platform. I though about the wall mount alternative, but it would have been more expensive and an easy place for my cat to find a new place to take a nap. Secondly, I thought about vibrations coming from the walls at higher listening volumes.

Nice solution, John. How did you polish the glass corners and the sides? Would thicker Plexi-glass could work better for this purpose?

Edit : Ok, I read the post above which just happened to arrive before mine. So, I know you got it done at the glass shop. My bad!
