We carry them. The 23 is nice but I'm still not replacing my PS3 with it. I have yet to find a stand alone player I really like. The new Oppo is suppose to be the bomb.

Great question. I am talking myself into going BluRay and like the Pioneer BDP-09FD. My only question about it is if I can get the same video performance in the lower priced model. Apparently, Pioneer put a lot of effort into getting the CD playback also top notch, and I do not need that technology in the HT room. But I do want the absolute best picture quality available.
Nope...still love my 05-FD...especially with it's 1.32 fly-ass DTS-HDMA firmware. ;)

Did you go and buy it between your first thread asking for opinions on B R players and your last?
I have Installed many now and as it' s a very nice player, I don't see it replacing my PS3. It's load times are still slow. It's video upconverting and Bu ray playback is top notch. I did a shootout with the 05fd and the Ps3 and the 05fd had a slight edge in video quality. I ran that test on a Pioneer ELite Projector. It was awesome to do a battle on a 106 inch screen.
CD playback is topnotch but we usually pair it up with a SC-07 so Wolfson DAC's over the HDMI are being used in the SC-07 so it's always top notch. I have not ran analog and judge it. But History teaches you Pioneer Elite players are a cut above most other players for cd play back. Also with DVD playback, top notch. I have no gripes here.
Like I said load times are slow and thats when I lose interest. Once I find a fast loading player, then I'm ready to go deep on it. It's worth a look if your in the market for such a player and load times are no big deal. Once you own a PS3 you get spoiled by very fast start up times.

I also have a PS3 (80G) and I just can't find a good reason to replace it. I did however find one problem with play-back of one DVD I have. I subscribed to the HT Revealed series from the AV Science Forum and Volume4 froze towards the end and would not play the last 10 min. of the DVD. I went to the main menue and selected the next chapter and it went to the exact spot it froze and would not play through it. I took it to my wifes laptop and it did the samething just a couple seconds after the spot, I then took it to my computer and it played to the end. I don't know why it did that but it is the only one in the series to do it. Other then that one little glitch it just rocks and the extras you can do with it like storing music is really enjoyable.
I didn't mean to get off the OP question. I don't have and can't see me a reason to look elsewhere given the performance of the PS3 console and if they can make it happen I feel other manuf.'s can as well they just choose not to which is a bummer IMO.
