I am sorry to hear your losses, Sal! I love pets and I have both cats and dogs. It's very sad when the moment comes you lose a pet. It's no less than losing a family member.

    RIP Houndini!

Sorry about your loss. Pets always seem to be part of the family more than some of the family. Cats always plot against everyone with you when they aren't plotting against you too and dogs are unconditional love. Unless the dog is smart.
Again, sorry to hear about your loss.

    Default Sorry for your loss

very sorry to hear of your loss Sal.................

    They will not go quietly,
the cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
    their spirit still survives.

Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
    we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them. . . and always will.

Bad news indeed Sal. Houdini looks like a real cute guy (gal?) in those pictures. He/she obviously had an adoring home, and was a very happy cat.

Best wishes to you and the missus for happier days ahead!

VERY sorry to hear of your loss. I am taking my cat to the vet tonight for a checkup. He is 13 and I am starting to think about him not being around. My last cat I had to put to sleep at 2 years old due to kidney failure. Man that hurt like hell.

Here is something that should make everyone here smile a bit.

Sorry, Sal. Any one who's lost a pet knows something about what you're feeling now.

    God speed, Houdini!

Thanks all for your kind words, we knew it was coming. he went from 23LBS in 2006 to 4LBS today.

The past two weeks he only slept, ate and used the potty.

He still begged for food, he loved bacon and hamburger!

Two days ago he lost his appetite and today he was moaning in pain, so I stayed with him all morning and afternoon and then I finally got the nerve to call the vet to have him put down but he passed in the car on the way to the vet.

    Thank you.

Houdini was not like a cat at all, he was more like a dog, and he would greet new people and beg to be pet. He would follow me around the house all day long.

If I called him he would come every single time.

He was so good; he never bit anybody or scratched anybody.

Some cats they won't let you touch them on their feet or belly, I could do anything to him and he'd just purr all day long.
