XBOX 360 hard drive migration kit

why is this damn thing so elusive? why can't i just go to xbox and figure this thing out? anyone got one to distribute in a sort of "pay it forward"-type manner??? then i could "pay it forward" as well? wtf?

I had one, but I passed it on to a friend in Texas. They come with the 120gb drives. Not that I typically condone such practices... but you could always find a place with a liberal return policy, buy a 120gb, use the transfer kit, then return it. Just sayin'! :)

Actually I am still waiting on one from a member here. However, not really a big deal. If you do get your hands on one, let me know so I can use it. Or we can go half on one from Ebay. Let me know.

I thought if you called 1-800-4my-xbox, they would send you a migration kit if you asked, free of charge. I know they used to.

i read that too. i tried calling two days ago but it was after-hours. and from what i've read, there is quite a wait anyhow as these are still in high-demand. maybe i'll try to call again someday. from what i read you have to give them the old 20gb 360 serial number as well as the new elite serial number or they won't send it to you...

This is true, they will ask for both console serial numbers or they will not ship. I called in to order one roughly 3 months ago now. Definitely sux
