Default Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland"

Here's just a few images from what is to be one seriously amazing film. I will say this, there is no director on this planet that can create such amazing films as Tim Burton, none.

That looks really cool. When did or is it coming out? I don't follow movies much so forgive me on being in the dark.

This looks like it'll be a good one. If anyone can successfully remake Alice In Wonderland, Tim Burton's the guy. His movies are incredible.

This seems pretty awesome and I love alot of Tim Burtons stuff but lets not forget he made 'Charlie and the Chocolat Factory' and 'Planet of the Apes'.

I have to admit his hits far outweigh his misses.

I'm a HUGE Tim Burton fan and I can say his only real miss was Planet of the Apes. There are even rumors that he was actually replaced on the set with a phantom director due to major conflicts with the studio. Some reports have him not even setting foot on the set for the majority of filming. They really only kept his name on the final product for name recognition.

I thought Charlie was another miss the first time I saw it, but subsequent viewings have me thinking otherwise. As over the top as it could be at times (most notably the musical numbers), there are some really subtle bits that really make the movie.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I don't get all the hate with Charlie, thought it was a great movie, especially after seeing it a couple times. It was a bit of sensory overload the first time through, but after the initial shock it's really a great movie.

Batman Returns, Mars Attacks! , Sleep Hollow, The Planet of the Apes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All movies with incredible production values, unique and well produced visual presentations but in the end left me limp. There is no doubt Tim Burton is a gifted crafter of films, nobody can set a mood or create a world better than he can, but it has to be said that sometimes there is lot more sizzle than there is steak in his films. Not looking to start anything, just wanted to give my 2 cents.

Burton's Charlie was a lot more in tune with the book then the Wilder version ever was, it far exceeded the previous by leaps and bounds.

The only Burton film I did not care for was Apes, other then that his films have all be fantastic.

Burtons's falling out with the studio over Apes started when they insisted the female characters make-ups be redesigned to make them less human. Burton's vision called for them to be beautiful in a human way so as to be attractive to humans... he wanted there to be a love scene in the film between human and ape! Once that element was removed as a possibility, the rest of the script needed to be reworked, as it was the love between Helena Bohnam-Carter's and Mark Whalberg's characters that was to have led to a completely different film than the one that got made....

The problem with Charlie is that people have a fondness for the original (however "unfaithful" to the source material it was, it is still a classic movie and one that many people love), so a remake is always going to grate with people.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I think Burton is getting back to his glory day roots with this movie, like back when he made amazing movies like Beetlejuice. I can not wait for this movie it looks amazing. And for those who didn't now this isn't a remake but a return to the alice world, I guess its the sequel after the animated disney movie because Alice was much youger then and now she is 17 when she returns, only thing is she doesn't remember that she has been in wonderland before. So this is going to be great!

You should watch it in dubbed Spanish. If there's anything missing, it's the Mexican gothic touch. Beetlejuice speaking Spanish is the tits.

Burton is one of those Idiot Savant types. He has Genius visuals but he, himself, doesn't always KNOW what he is actually doing! And occasionally he can produce a stinker because of that! A conversation with him about his films would probably yield a very 'boring' transcript!

Look to Bunuel, Bergman, Kurosawa and Felini if you want intellectual amusement! But there's nothing wrong with a good DAY-DREAM on the big screen!

Film is, in a way, a WAKING DREAM, which may explain our fascination with it....it taps into something much deeper in the psyche than what is actually being 'seen'?

Very well said, and I completely agree. That's one reason why I love Burton's films and, in general, movies that take me away from reality. I don't like reality films at all, got enough of that junk in real life.

Seems Tim's not remaking Disney's Alice, but rather a sequel of sorts. About Alice's return to Wonderland at the age of 17. You can read about it here.
