Default Need bookshelf speakers for Bedroom

Hi, i have around a 10x10 bedroom maybe a little bigger, I have a 37" Sharp 1080p LCD tv with a playstation 3 hooked up to it. Now the sound is really dull, and above the tv i have a 4 year old Panasonic receiver i think pumps out about 100 watts through each channel.

Christmas time i had Rti6's and i had them laying sideways. There was a really uncomfortable sound of jittering or something inside one of the speakers, so i decided to refund them. i purchased them for 200 CAD.

Best buy is still selling them, now for 160 CAD So i was thinking maybe of picking them up again and putting them right ways up and see if they sound good and continue to?

Best buy also has the M10's for 99 dollars, now are these really amazing? or should i justifly the extra cash for the Rti6's?

These will mainly be used to play techno and R&b aswell as ps3 games and the occasional blu ray movie.

Or maybe you guys have better suggestions? I dont have very much cash.

Oh, if you didnt catch on, im in Canada so Canada retailers please :D

Get the RTi6s. They're worth the money. Put them right side up this time.

Also, didn't see them still listed on bestbuy.ca's website. They instore only?

+1 to this. I used the RTi6's as front's for a brief period in my early H/T setup. Great speaker! Position them right side up as John mentioned for optimal result's. You might even entertain looking into it's make over, the RTi-a3.

Are you looking only for polks? I have a psb set-up that i really enjoy. They are based in canada so you should be able to audition them (if you haven't already) and see if they suit your needs.

I have a pair of TSi100s in my bedroom. It's about 20x20, with bay windows on the left and the rear. They're driven by an entry-level Pioneer AVR I got for cheap on newegg.

I haven't had time to tune up the imaging (the asymetrical nature of wall materials does affect the room sound) nor find definitive stands for them yet. But they otherwise do a very nice job for filling the room (I generally only use them when watching a DVD or videos downloaded from the AppleTV).

The Rti / Rtia's are some mean bookshelf / fronts on a basic 2ch rig. Can u get better book-shelves? Sure, at 2-3x the price you will get better stuff like
    :

    1. yamaha soavo 2 - ya ya I know....
    2. Genelec - 4020
    3. Monitor Audio - Bronze br2

Can you do better than the rti's for lesser bucks? IMHO yes
    Energy connoisseur cb 10.

But yr post seems more about seeking validation for the 6's rather han a speaker search, so yeah the rti'6 are excellent.

It's not a good thing for Energy as they are reducing their line-up.

I would suggest a good set of used over new. You will get more bang for the Canadian $$$. I would keep your eyes open on Craigs list or on Ebay for a set of Definitive Technology Pro Monitors. Either the 80, 800, 100 or 1000's. You should be able to pick up a set for the price you are looking for if you can wait. Or you should check out Energy. They are also a great sounding speaker.
