Default Polk SDA CRS black with stands & Monitor 5 series 2 in Oak

Well my buying frenzy is at a close and its time to sell an extra pair of SDAs I bought. Here is how it happened... like you care

    1. I sold my 1C's to Mack here at the forum.
    2. I reget selling my 1C's and look for another pair.
    3. I bought this pair of CRS for rears to match my CRS fronts.
    4. I regret selling my 1C's, start looking for another pair even before I get the second set of CRS
    5. Find and buy another set of 1C's (damn internet)
    6. Both the 1C's and CRS's get here and Russ has too many speakers AGAIN.

What was I selling oh yea
Polk CRS in black, with stands and interconnect cable very nice shape, boxed and ready for you. Again I am try to recover my cash, asking 400.00 shipped, add 10.00 to 20.00 for west coast.

Also, I bought a trio of Monitor 5 series 2 speakers in Oak, Make me an offer, these cost me 300.00 delivered (ouch) make me an offer.

I bought a pair of 2.3tl's from this guy. I must say his shipping methods and total care of his speakers, are the best I have ever seen. You will be entirely pleased if you purchase from him.:) :) :) :) :)

    Default Experience with Russ

I purchased a CS400 from Russ early this year and it arrived in perfect shape just as he said it would. I had no problem at all with the transaction.

Russ has my stamp of approval!

    Russ,

I am also (sorry Scott) interested in a set of CRS's in black oak.
    Is this the one-tweeter (CRS+) , or two-tweeter model?
I would also be interested in the Polk speaker stands.

If you got a complete set w/stands - let me know.
If you are coming to Indiana anytime soon (Hoosier),
I can be patient to avoid shipping charges and UPS problems.
    I live in Indy.

    Default SDA CRS Pictures

Those wanting pictures, scroll down and look at the "can't be for real" post, these are the CRS speakers I bought.

These have the single tweeter, but I really don't know if they are CRS+'s, is the single tweeter enough to make them the "+" version???? If so them yes they are CRS+

Yes it looks like the CRS's will have a new home, does anyone need 3 Monitor 5's in Oak?

These will make a really nice LCR for a seemless front, OR use them for RL RC RR for a fantastic rear trio. (Sorry but thats my best sales job)
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

    They were there Sunday.
It was an oak pair in Baltimore.
They received no bids (minimum $250).

I deleted the ebay search e-mail that had
    the reference number. Woops.
I no longer cared as mine are "in shipment" from Russ.
My advice, setup an e-bay search for "polk crs"
and just wait for an e-mail.

    Default Hmmmm...

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mr. Tyrone Thompson snatched up the CRS +'s here in Baltimore. Haven't talked to him, but I'll lay $$$$ on it.

He acquired a pair very recently to replace the SRS 2.3's he was using as his rear surrounds and is now selling in the flea market forum.

Default You are correct Mr. Strong

    Hello again John
You are correct. i did pick up that set of crs+ speakers off of ebay. just happened to check out ebay at lunch time on monday and there they were. they were listed i think on friday and no one had bid on them. they were being sold from a consignment shop a mile and a half from my house. call the guy up and ask if he would sell them to me and that way he could avoid the shipping hassles and he said that as long as no one had placed a bid that was okay by him. this is my 3rd pair of crs+ speakers and these were by far the best. as close to mint as you can get. and to you mr. john strong all i can say is "stop telling all of my business" (LOL) !!!!!!!!......tyrone

3 Pairs of CRS+'s... Wow. You are a serious collector.

The black pair of CRS+'s I bought from Russ had a defective SL2000 Tweeter. Russ gets two big thumbs up from me for handling this issue very well. He agreed to cover the cost of replacement Polk Tweets SL2000T (aftermarket) and I'm going to send him the old set of SL2000's (one good & one bad).

    Thanks Russ.

QUESTION: Does anybody know what upgrades went into the CRS+ when they shifted from blade/blade to pin/blade.
My pair doesn't say "+" only CRS (but, a one tweet model).
I suspect they are an early release.

After I pulled the tweets, I looked inside the CRS and saw in each speaker two massive crossovers. My monitor 10's have relatively small crossovers. But, these CRS's are the real thing. Impressive.
What is so special about these huge hand-wound crossovers (curious)?

Do the CRS's have any sort of tweeter protection built into them?
(obviously, it didn't protect the original SL2000 very well if they did).

Does anybody have an original CRS or CRS+ manual they'd be willing to xerox for me?

    Thanks all.

    Ron

    Default SDA CRS

    Hey Ron,

On the Polk parts and service list you can see the parts that went into each generation of SDA CRS's. It looks like the pin/blade type may have been the last generation. Also, what is the difference between the original SL2000 tweeter and the SL2000T tweeter they sent you for replacement? Does anyone know?

    John,

I'll post again once I receive the 2 new SL2000T's.
I should be getting them on Monday.

Polk Service says they meet all specifications but
are produced by an outside supplier.
Works for me. I trust Polk.

    Ron,

Sounds good to me also. I'm glad we can still get parts after all these years. Thanks Polk!

    Arhank,

Ok, I recevied my new SL2000T (aftermarket) Tweets from Polk to replace the silver-coil domes in my CRS's.

    Here is my impressions:
    1. Black soft cloth-like dome. Very impressive visually.
    2. Says Polk Audio in a circle around the tweeter.
    3. They sound absolutely fabulous.

In short, given the choice between the original SL2000 silver-coil dome and the new SL2000T black dome; without a doubt, I would choose the replacement SL2000T tweeter.

The highs sound EXACTLY like I like them to.
I have the SL3000's in my 3.1TL's, and I think I prefer the tweeter sound of the SL2000T's from Polk Aftermarket Supplier.

Thats my story and I'm stick'n to it.

    Ron
