    Post Das Boot Superbit DVD

    Hey Gang,

I have the original DVD release which I "hear" is quite inferior to the new Superbit release, and I'm also reading reviews that the video is no match for the Superbit version as well. I'm a huge fan of this movie, and I like the original's extras, but wanted to hear from you other Das Boot fans if you have seen/heard/own the new Superbit release before I plunk down the cash for the "upgrade". The bottom line I'm getting from what I'm reading is that the Superbit version is WELL worth it - anybody out there agree?

I have the Director's Cut on DVD. Bass is deep but WAY lacking in power compared to U-571 DTS.

If the SuperBit version is stronger in the bass and has DTS - I'd definitely go for it.

Yeah, I wasn't at all impressed with the bass in the original Das Boot. Well, I might just have to upgrade for that reason alone! :)

Stronger than the DD 5.1 Director's Cut?

I thought that version was a little mellow compared to U-571 DTS. The bass is there, certainly, but the amplitude is lacking. Upping the sub 3 clicks on the AVR got me where I wanted.
