how much stand height are you considering.
welcome to Club Polk
I would like to get the bottom of the speaker to be at about 42" above the floor.
TIA
rt1000i appear to be originally designed as floor standing.
or i have the wrong model in mind.

perhaps you may need to have stands custom made to your
height and decor.
I've seen some excellent cabinet work on Club Polk
maybe one of those skilled will reply to your posting....
Oops my mistake. This is for my rears which are the fx 1000 dipole/bipole.
I had the same thought when I wall mounted my f/x500i's but any speaker stand worth trusting to hold these bad boy's was not to be found. Not saying they are not available. With kids running around, I could see bad things happening.

I have these 36" stands for my LSi9s and they seem to be adjustable, stable and attractive:
Bell'o 36" Speaker Stands (Titatnium)
They are only $74. There was some assembly required, but I had them both together in about 20 minutes.
I guess I should add that these are pretty stable for a household that doesn't have kids or really drunk adults! ;)
If a child were to run into them, the speaker would probably fall on them. If you have kids, the best way to mount the speakers is probably to the wall.

The top plate seems a little small for the speaker to sit on.
That last link has a very cool stand, but did not see a price. It will only allow a 25# speaker.
One thought I had was to make the base and speaker shelf from walnut and make the center section from 6" PVC. I would paint the PVC a matt black. I would make an extended round center section that the PVC would fit over. I would have a center 1" pipe for running wire up through the unit. I would then fill the annulus between center and outer pipes with sand. I would use stainless socket head cap screws to raise the unit above the carpet. Another thought was to use the socket head cap screws and go in from above the base plate, capture the base with a nut on the back side and grind a point on the socket head cap screw so that it digs into the floor below the carpet.
I use these stands (VTI DF29b)from http://www.racksandstands.com/VTI-DF-VI1045.html,
They have a 6"x8" top plate and are very well made and can easily handle the size and weight of the LSIF\X's.
The only thing I don't like are the hardwood floor protectors, they can easily fall off and the carpet spike will mar the floor. I replaced them with threaded appliance feet from Home Depot.
Other than that they are well worth the price!!
I filled mine with sand to deaden the post and to keep them from resonating.
Use heavy duty double sided foam tape to secure the speaker to the stand.

I do like that stand. How is the quality of it? Some of said that some of these stands are just cheap stamped metal.
I will be setting a speaker that has a 10.5Wx9.5"D and 20" tall on it.
These are well built stands made of decent tubular steel posts with a heavy cast base, the top plate is maybe 1/16" thick steel, more than adequate for those speakers....after putting these together, my impression of these stands is solid, well made, stable and a good value.
You will have to fill them with sand or shot so they won't resonate, and if your placing them on a wood floor you'll have to do something with the floor protector disks they give you to cover the carpet spikes.

I just might order this tonight. I need to see what height I want my speakers.
Thanks, John
Skylan stands can be custom ordered in just about any height and plate size. Come with one to four posts and you have to mass load them, which should prevent any problems with them getting knocked over. There are none better!

I bought a set of the VTI from RackandStands.
My speakers have always been either floor mounted or wall hung and I have never had speakers on stands. I thought it better to go with something less expensive in case I don't like them.

You know I'm just going to throw this out. A friend wanted some stands and I gave him a few options, but recommended he buy some from Skylan. Well, he wanted to get the cheap ones (VTI) because he's not all that into audio and doesn't understand the differences. So, I ordered the VTI's for him. They arrived here in some of the cheapest cartons I've ever seen. The packaging was a joke. Both bases had small nicks in the paint. One screw was missing. The welded plates in the top of the columns were uneven. Once assembled the top plates sat slightly out of square. The VTI name plate, mounted on the top of each base, was located in a different spot and the empty posts ring like crazy. A perfect example of getting what you paid for, IMO.I bought a set of the VTI from RackandStands.
