Rebinding a Bible?

I have a Bible I actually haven't used all that long, but it was cheap and has a bonded leather cover and so is already falling apart. However, I have had it long enough to collect most all my notes in it, so I really want to keep using it. I'm thinking getting it rebound is in order now.

The only problem is I thought I could prolong its use a bit with some duct tape before I thought of getting it rebound, so I have some duct tape between a few pages trying to keep it together.

Two questions:
1) About how much does it usually cost to have a book rebound? In this case, the cover's fine, just the binding is ripping out. So if they don't mind reusing the binding, that's fine with me.
2) Do you think there's ANY way they can get the duct tape off the razor thin Bible pages? It's only on a few, and not past the table of contents, so it's not a huge deal but would be nice if they could get off.

check you local museums, colleges and universities that have large libraries.

usually there is a book specialist / binder near the academics.

The duct tape is now a non-issue. I took care of that earlier today.

IIRC you are in college,,right? I would think that it would be fairly easy to find someone who does this sort of thing. Or are you thinking of DIY'ing it.I've got something around here on bookbinding,,lemme se if I can find it. Good luck,,how's school? BTW,, your old Dodd is back in NC.;)

I really would rather not DIY it. The duct tape was my attempt at that. :p I found a place through the internet that seems to do great...but it's in Indiana, haha.

I'm really looking forward to going back to school this fall. I've really really enjoyed the summer, but it's beginning to seem a little boring. Glad to hear the Dodd's still in action. Hope someone's still enjoying it!

As suggested by others take it to a pro who will be able to help you out, another place to inquire would be local county library. And also after the Physical binding, do the actual binding, Bind it with LOVE to the LORD our GOD with your whole Heart and Mind and Soul.

As some have said, in a college setting, I would think they are repairing books often. I can't believe there isn't a local book binder in your area. I would ask around.

There is a company in Madison Wisconsin called Demco who supplies library products. Maybe they can help or at least direct you to someone.
