I felt like stepping out of the usual burgers or dogs tonight ... and decided on Tandoori chicken instead.

Yes, it tastes every bit as good as it looks. :D

had it with Naan and yellow rice. ;)

this is what it ended up being.. Chicken Tikka Masala over yellow rice

if you just grill the chix it's tandoori chicken.. if you take the meat off and heat it up in sauce it's tikka masala

Did you know that Chicken Tikka Masala was recently voted the most popular/liked dish in the U.K.? I love it.

A little over a decade ago, one girl I dated introduced me to the wonders of Indian food, Miles Davis and Chai in short succession. We broke up shortly thereafter, but these three things have stuck with me over the past 10 years. If I go out to eat these days, I'd say its an Indian restaurant 80-90% of the time.

I wish I had the skills to create the dishes you made and photographed above. Keep it up!

Doesn't tandoori chicken technically have to be cooked in a tandoor, though? Otherwise it's just grilled chicken, right?

Correct. Although it's a combination of the spices and the tandoor that give it a nice red color.

Either way... the chicken in the first post looks MIGHTY tasty. :)

Yes... but my tondoor in the shop for repairs.. keeps going into protect mode. :p:p

grilled or not.. it's the spices that make it so good. i added food coloring to make it reddish.

I have to agree. I love all Indian/Punjabi food. :D

If you can follow a recipe you can make any of the food I make. Although this dish takes 24 hours to make.. it has to marinate in yoghart over night. But worth it. ;)
