    Talking Bought My First Bike!

I sold my SDA's and bought a bike!

This is my first bike and so far it seems like a great bike to learn on. Small quick and nimble. And very comfortable..

    Its a 1993 Honda CBR600F2 with only 15,000 miles.

The only thing done to it is a D&D slip on and a stage 2 jet kit. I am also running Race Gas in it..

Been riding it all day. I love it!! I'm tired and a little sore though. My hands hurt the most. I bought a new helmet today. But I didn;t by any gloves. I'm going to go buy some tomorrow and see if that helps my hands any.. I'm going to buy a nice riding jacket when I have some extra money also...

So what you guys think? I paid $1600 for the bike..

The first pic is a short video I took with my camera...

Nice find. Low miles, nice bike. The year doesn't matter that much as in cars. In addition to riding gear, get some of these:

Yeah. I should have got the gloves when I got the helmet. The girl helping me was even stressing gloves. And saying how the hands are usually the first to hit...

I had just already spent so much money today. I didn't want to spend any more. I bought the bike today. Title transfer, insurance, tags, helmet and race gas..

But after I got home and rechecked my money. I can defiantly afford a decent pair of gloves. So I'll pick some up tomorrow. I've also been wearing a dress leather jacket. But it doesn't seem suited for riding. It flaps in the wind pretty bad and catches the wind. I can't get it sealed up. I figured it would at least be some protection if I went down. I intend to get a riding jacket though as soon as I can. Something more comfortable and more protective.. And probably cooler looking to boot.:D

I almost bought that exact model/color bike when it was new in 93. Now I have it's big brother, 800 vfr.

Check out www.leatherup.com for gloves and such at really good prices. Been buying from them for years and never had a quality problem.

I just got back from another ride.. And you know what. It flat out beats the hell out of any stereo I ever had... It's like that six flags commercial. Stereo, One flag.:( Crotch Rocket, Six flags!!:D I wonder if that commercial is nation wide?

Any way. I love it and can't get enough.. How much better is it and than LFT-8s? Even though I never got them. I would say.. A LOT!!!

And yes the chick factor is way up there with this thing. It sounds nasty and looks great. I get all kinds of looks and waves.:)

    Like the McDonald's commercial.

    I'm lovin it.

EXALTED I had this same exact bike (zx6r) after selling my zx9r when my wife and I needed money so I had to downgrade =(

Nik congrats on your bike, shes a real beauty. After selling my kawi's I later got a 2003 Honda CBRF4i and I loved the torque that came from that thing. Definitely a nice bike to stunt with (of course not out on the highway/etc).

Btw let me know what size jacket you wear, I have an extra Alpinestars that sits in my closet used only once for one of my gf's I had at the time. Its black/silver and looks extremely mint.

I don't want to rain on anyones parade, but I'm already worried that you are heading for an accident. If this is your idea of a first bike then you are in over your head already. 250's are starter bikes, not 600 F2's. And then instead of taking any time to learn on what is already too much bike for a beginner, you install a stage 2 jet kit and a pipe instead of spending the money on a basic rider safety course. Hell, you didn't even think to properly equip yourself with basic safety gear first. I'm hope that you live long enough to enjoy motorcycling, it really is one of the greatest feelings on earth. Good luck.

    Geez.... Thanks for your opinion.

I've been riding and racing motocross bikes all my life. And played around on a friends Buell Lightning a couple times also. So its not really my FIRST bike. Just the first one that I've bought..

I didn't install a pipe or a jet kit. They were already on the bike. I was stating that was the only thing done to it. And the rest was original

I completely respect the bike and have no problems handling it. I'm also enrolled in a riders education course...

So thanks for your concern and your opinion. But like I said. I think its a great starter bike for me....

Bah its a small, I just hate to see it sit in my closet. Its literally brand spanking new. I had one myself and would say I prefer mesh jackets over leather, they just breathe so well on warmer days but with the liner added they keep you warm on those really cold nights.

No more bike posts! Youre making me want to get another one now, had to sell my last bike before moving to IL from CA.

Well... I have a pretty small frame.. Did you want to sell it??

I wouldn't mind seeing if it would fit.. Well... Come to think of it. Unless it was long. It probably won't fit.. I'm 6ft tall. But very narrow. Maybe 30"+ chest?

    What do you think?

Arm length I doubt it'll fit, I'm only 5'7" and the end of the arm reaches my wrist like it's supposed to. Got a gf/wife that'll be riding with you?

Dang. Really wanted it. Oh well.. The colors were perfect also. Exact same colors as my helmet I bought today....

No GF at the moment... I can't even ride one on the bike anyway... Not with a learners permit. No passangers...

Geez... Why did have to post a pic. That thing is SICK! And would match my helmet perfect!!

I have to move some money around and wait for some stuff to clear before I could pay for it... How soon could you send it out?

If your in Illinois. It shouldn't take long to get here and shouldn't cost much to ship either. I would love to try it out...
