Been getting my new House painted....

The people I bought the house from didn't paint it in 16 years and I think they painted right ontop of the original 30 year old paint that was peeling off because it was horrendus.

My Dad said he was surprised that the bank gave me the loan for the house with how bad it was.

Our 3 season porch had rotted walls that needed to be painted and the garage door just fell off of its rails 2 days ago, So I need a new Garage door now as well. Just loads of fun!!!!

They have a little touch up to do, they need to do the foundation in grey, the Front door is going to be a Dark Red and we are having them paint the black wrought iron white.

Congats on the new house Sal. Some advice: The "cheek wall" in pic 4 (IMG 1031) looks very suspect to me, the sidewall shingles in tight to the roof, lots of Mastic, (Tar) looks like they had some water issues, might want to check step flashing, and get those cheek shingles off the asphalt. (promotes rot)

Hey Pat,

They ripped all that old tar off and they used this new rubber stuff that suspoed to last 3 times longer. it is a three step process, you apply one coat, then this fiber material and then another coat ontop.

Sal, is that the new application in the pic? wasnt picking anything apart of course, just wanted to offer you up some friendly advice. Being in the trade, that just caught my eye. Dont think im familiar with the process you mentioned.
