Mythos 10 rears.

Whats up all?
Well today was a 1/3 good day. I got my rears in. I also got the center but I figured I'd wait until the Mythos St fronts come in. I was told another 10 days due to back order. That really sucks but o well I will have to wait( I just hate waiting for anything)

So I hung the rears and took a few pic's, they are incredible looking. To me anyway. I love em. They are what a rear should be. I was going to go in wall or Gem xl's but I figured I also do SACD and DVD audio not to mention concert Blu rays are amazing , just listen to Dave Mathews. So here they are.






The tweeter hangs in a alomst perfect 71 1/2 inches to dead center. I was going for 72 to dead center but where my Dynaudio Audience 42w's where (and the Lsi/fx's where) I wanted to cover the holes ( who wants to paint every time you change speakers?) .

Btw, what are your thoughts on the 8's with the STS's? they have them on sale in silver for <$400 ea.

I didn't go with the Mythos Sts series , I went with the big dogs ST so the 10's are a perfect match. The 9's go perfect with the STS.

With that being said the 8's are very nice and are a older design and don't have the BDSS drivers. They do however match and for a good price like that, I would use them as rears allday. But really the 9's are the way to go with the STS man. It's your call. Your good but could be a tad better.

Now you can get the set up, just below what Dan's doing, in SILVER from Amazon for about $4,500. And neither system requires a sub, because the towers have built in subs.
I've been rockin' w/ dual subs for a week now:D

Never had an opportunity to hear any Mythos but I have a feeling they sound every bit as good/better than the install looks.

Thats a crazy deal. Thats a very impressive system for such a stupid price. If Silver is a match for your room, I see no reason not to buy this.

I have never heard a "thin" speaker set like that design that I liked the sound of. These certainly appear to be in a different class though and would love to get my ears on a set sometime.

mantis, first off....what a beautiful setup you have going on there. Very impressive. I'm sure you are happy as heck about it.

Oh, and I'm with you on the "hate waiting for anything" thing. I'm going through the same thing on waiting for my Anthem avm50v to arrive.

Thanks man. I didn't even Install the center channel yet due to I want to break in all 3 at the same time. Weird am I??? Yes. So there is a 10 sitting in my bedroom unboxed and ready for action.

Here is the worse setup I have ever had set up but I can't go without having some kind of working system.

Mains used to be Dynaudio Audience 82's. Sold them and out of the basement came my old ass Klipsch KG 3.5's. These are oak wood but still kick it. My wife awhile back made a comment about how she liked them better then my Dynaudio's. I wanted to kill her. But they are bright and in your face and loud as hell. So someone likes that.

The center stays the Audience 122c which isn't sold yet so this is another reason I didn't install the new center. I have one Installed and instead of pulling it out of the rack , i figured I will install all at once.

The sub is still my Sub 500. In some ways I hope I don't sell it as it now kicks since I upgraded the amp. 80 to 100 caps in the digital amp. It made a pretty big difference in head room.

Rears are what you see. They replaced the Audience 42w's. They where incredible musical rears. For SACD and DVD AUDIO they blew my mind. I hope the 10's live up to that experience, so far I notice they kick my head in. They explode when things go on. I'm no way going to review them until the entire system is in and broken in but so far so good. They are more dynamic and that was the goal.

FYI - Def Tech is very good to work-with for most of the dealers. They do give big discounts. u cud get STS w/3x 9s in Blacks for close to $3700
