    Default Forte 1A Amplifier

    I just picked up a Forte Audio 1A amplifier and I'm excited to hook it up tonight. It's class A 50wpc and it is a NP design. I'll post some of my own pictures when I get a chance, but it's a pretty meaty thing, yet fairly simple. The guy I bought it from is an EL34 guy and he says it's the closest thing he's heard to tubes. I'll be running it through a passive transformer based pre, so it should be a pretty good match.     Does anyone have the specs for this amp? I need to know the input impedance and the input sensitivity of it for a project.

    Nice pickup,it should be a good little amp for you.

    As for input impedance if there is no coupling cap at the input you should be able to measure it at the input terminals with a DMM.Otherwise you'll have to measure it on the PC board.



    Edit:Looking closer a the pics I'm guessing the bigger yellow film caps near the back panel where the input wires go to are indeed coupling caps.If that's the case then metering across the input RCA's will not yield your answer.
