    Default Monitor 70?

Hello all, this is my first post. I currently have the m50's as my fronts but I am thinking about upgrading. I have found the m70's for a pretty good price and was wondering what everyone thought about that upgrade. Is it worth it or are there other speakers that would be a better upgrade option? I also have m40's for rears, cs2, dsw pro 600, and denon avr-888 receiver. Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Default 70's

i have both speakers and love each. now to answer the dilemma, you should give more info. how big is the room, do you have a good sub, how much power do you have...... i love the 70's for all they deliver, but can still listen to my 50's and wonder how they can sound so good for a " budget " speaker

The room is about 15x12 with only 2 solid walls, the sub is the dsw-pro 600 by polk and the amp puts out 100 wpc.

I would not hesitate to recommend the 70's. I have had them for almost a year and am still amazed by how great they sound. For the prices they can be had for these days, they are had to beat IMHO. Welcome to Club Polk.

    +1
considering the fact you get the 70's for $30 more than what the 50's used to go for its a no brainer

A pair of Monitor 70's powered by a good two channel amp sound great.
I always wished Polk would have finished them in real wood like the RTi speakers.
I would love to own a pair of cherry wood finished Monitor 70's.
Perhaps Polk can bring them back in a special edition.

Well I decided to upgrade. After I sell my m50's hopefully I will have less than $200 into the new speakers. Thanks for the advice.

If you can afford it, the Monitor 50's make great side surround speakers. Move the Monitor 40's to be rear surrounds and you will have a nice 7.1 channel system with the Monitor 70's, CS2, and DSW600 up front.
