    Default Please don't forget

Whether you are religious or not. Secular, Agnostic whatever...

Please say a prayer or have a moment of silence for the victims of 9-11-2001

The men, women, our real public servants (FD, PDept) the families of all the people lost that horrible day in our country.

I sob every year because I watch several recordings I have along with my wife on this night and tommorow.

God Blesses all of them and all the angels were their with them that day.

Truly a sad day in the history of this great country.

And don't forget the souls who gave their all to help others. Those who went INTO the towers to make sure others got out.

And not to forget there are many survivors who suffer today because they gave their support at ground zero in the days, weeks, and months that followed. They too should be remembered and supported.

I couldn't agree more, I am in the AD Air Force and was awakened very early that day by a phone call that changed my life forever. We immediately went into Threatcon Delta (now FPCON) and it was a very long and stressful few weeks that followed. I immediately deployed to "a hole in the ground" in the Middle East and was there for the next 6 months supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. I will have a moment to myself in the next few days and hope nothing like this ever happens again.

I was indirectly in the middle of the chaos on 9/11 being a travel agent at the time.

Never forget our fallen heroes, their families and the men and women who serve.

God Bless America. Land of the free and the home of the brave.

I was in a small town police dept in Southern Az working on their 911 circuits when the dispatchers came into the eq room and told us we had to see what was happening on tv.

    I'll be remembering what happened.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Thank God for those that did sacrifice and continue to sacrifice. Thank God for the families of those men and women. I have few regrets in life, but one of them is neglecting to find the time and courage in my youth to be willing to put my time into service. Be it civil or in the armed forces. The families that enstilled purpose, courage and the ability to give beyond their normal means, even unto death need as much rememberance as the heros they helped raise and support.

I'll pray for all of those involved directly or indirectly. It's a horrible thing to happen to a good country, but we could have reacted differently to one another, and in the time of lost hope grieving and cleanup, there were open arms and support. I'm rarely a patriot when it's political, but this country is filled with many a good person, so God bless America.

+1 I love my wife and son very dearly, I remember proposing to my wife, my wedding day, my son's birth very good. But sadly not with as much clarity and detail as this event.
Such a shame that sometimes terrible things can burn into our memory so deep over happy events.:(

    God Bless America.

Find it hard to believe that I never saw this before, but there is a very simple and fitting monument of 9-11 in NJ given as a gift to the US from Russia. It lines up with the Statue of Liberty (another gift) and ground zero.

    Worth checking out.
