Finally. Decent Internet Speed

Living away from the large urban centers has both good and bad points. For me, more good than bad. One thing that has always ticked me off is the internet. I like speed and if I had my way and cost was no issue, I would have an OC3 or T4 in my house. Right.

Anyway, we did get some upgrades and I am now content with 16Mbps Down and 768kbps Up. Not bad for the Arctic. This should keep me happy for a while.

Cable company which is owned by the local phone company. ADSL is not available for residential.

What determines upload speed, Im only getting like 40-45 meg up. If my fiber line is setup for 100meg should it being doing more, download is where it's at though. Any thoughts?

It's 20/2 here for cable, hopefully fiber is coming from Verizon. I'm cheap and downgraded to 12/1 which bursts at around 20/1. (The 20/2 bursts to 30).

I just don't game or download as much as I used to.

Well you're right about download vs. upload speed, but.... I all depend's on what you're doing with upload. Sending large emails out, uploading webpage’s then upload is what’s important also.
