Though I do use the SDA's to watch movies, I do not consider that "HT"

Poll is now up. Sorry, I didn't know that the thread was up while I was typing the polls.

For me? 2 channel only baby! Been there and done that with the HT, it just doesn't interest me anymore. I've never felt goose bumps with any HT rig I've heard. Get 'em all the time with L&R.

I have a couple rigs but spend the most time in the HT room watching movies and playing Madden on PS3 with the boys. Listen to the music rig when I want to be by myself and relax.

I have two rigs. One for 2 channel and one for HT. Two channel is what does it for me.

I enjoy both. But the 2 channel is the one that gets the most money, so I guess I like that one more ;)

Right now i'm running 2 channel only, but i do enjoy HT as well.

But as for my preference? HT takes a back seat to 2 channel these days. I even enjoy movies just using 2-channel, so that's fine.

My 2 channel and HT are combined. Soon, I'll be integrating the two together. Currently, my AVR doesn't have pre-outs, nor does my 2 channel pre have HT bypass, so I've gotta swap cables around depending on whether I'm listening to music or watching a movie.

Soon, I'm going to be upgrading my AVR and getting a 2 channel pre with HT bypass, and I won't have to swap any cables around anymore.

Heya Curt...Just a suggestion; you can pick up an inexpensive switch box from Radio Shack until you get your rig how you want it. Save ya the hassle of swapping cables manually, fwiw. ;)

Two separate setups in two rooms. They both have different purposes, and both do a great job. However, the HT is a bit more versatile since I can play multi-channel SACDs when in the mood.

The only thing combined about my system is the main L/R speakers and my UDP. So I voted both but in separate rigs.

I do WAY more 2ch listening than HT.

Have a 2 channel rig with a small lcd in the middle to watch concert dvd's. But all music, no movies on it.

    So I voted 2 channel.

2 channel. HT got me back into music, and then I dumped it totally. I use SDA's,and a projector for movies. The choice is do you want a better 2 channel, or a mediocre HT. I costs a lot to add the extra channels of amps, processing, and speakers.
    I'll pass on HT.

I'm about 70% HT, 30% music in my room. I listen to most of my music on my desktop rig.
