Did the Forestry Service put a lightning rod on that tree ? If so, nice job.

You guy's like "big wood" check out the carmana (sp?) valley in BC ;)

Went out west there when i was ~10 and was both amazed and disgusted! I was amazed at the sheer size of the tree's and disgusted by the remnant's of the logging day's. I guess that's the price of "progress" :o

IIRC, wasn't there a tree that, they had cut a hole in, that you could drive thru it?
I thought I remembered seeing a picture to that effect?

I'm pretty sure the tree you could drive through is long gone.

Awesome tree. I've been to the Redwoods and Sequoias on vacations. The wife and I astually drove our 78 Chevy van through one of the Redwoods, can't emember which one though. Also, didn't I read somewhere that the tallest tree ever recorded was actually a Douglas Fir and not a Redwood? Could be wrong though.

Yea bobman, them's the biggies. The one I was thinking of was only 385 feet tall. Just a baby compared to those Eucalyptus's.
