Best aftermarket Stands - Model 10

Hi,
I am the original owner of my 10's from 1984. I had them on a set of speaker stands and they are starting to weaken.

I know the polk stands are not available now & I saw a post on building some. I have a disiability and cannot do that so my option is to just buy a new set.

Any brand names to look for or how tall of a stand should I use. I got my old stands as a BD present and not even sure they were the correct ones.

Is there any way to reinforce them? Reglue them? etc

The top part that the speaker sits on cracked so the speaker is sitting on a 8 x 4 flat surface & not 8 x 8. It is pretty sturdy but I want to make sure. I could look into maybe replacing just the top piece if I can get it off. The other stand is fine.

I place (all) of my Monitor 10's on "tip toes" (remember those) on a carpeted floor and it really helps tighten up the bass. I tried stands way back when but didn't think they were worth the trouble (and "tip toes" are just about indestructable).

HI,
I have hardwood floors so I need stands. What would be a good height? I can get 12" or 8" stands. I was thinking the 8" would get the tweeters close to my ear height when sitting on my couch. The 12" might be to high. I wonder what the original polks were?

The original stands also tilted the speaker back 5-6 degrees as a poor mans time alignment. (that actually worked pretty well)
